Privacy Policy for buyabeer.ca
Last updated: September 4, 2026
This page describes how Buy a Beer collects, uses and stores information submitted through this marketing and enquiry site (buyabeer.ca). It is operated by EvdM Digital Solutions Inc. and is intended to be consistent with the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy published for our event ticketing platform.
1. Information We Collect
We only collect information you choose to give us through the contact form on this site, including:
- Contact details: your name, email address and, if provided, phone number.
- Event details: organization or league, event type, event date and expected attendance, if provided.
- Your message: the enquiry text you type into the form.
- Technical information: your IP address and the time of submission, used for spam prevention, rate limiting and security.
2. The Contact Form and How Your Message Is Handled
When you submit the contact form, we save your submission in our secured database so we can review, track and respond to it. Your submission is also forwarded by email to our team using Amazon Web Services Simple Email Service (AWS SES), the same mail delivery service used across our platform. Your reply-to address is included so we can respond to you directly.
We use your name, email address and message only to answer your enquiry and keep a record of the conversation. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not use your contact form details for marketing.
3. Spam Prevention and Security
To keep the contact form working for real visitors, we use a hidden honeypot field, timing checks, and, where configured, Cloudflare Turnstile verification. Your IP address is logged and used to apply a submission rate limit and to help us investigate abuse. If Turnstile is enabled, your IP address and the challenge token are sent to Cloudflare solely to verify you are not a bot, under Cloudflare's own privacy practices.
4. Cookies
This site sets one essential session cookie used to protect the contact form against forged submissions (CSRF protection). This cookie is required for the form to work and is not used for tracking or advertising.
5. Analytics
We do not currently use Google Analytics or any other third-party analytics or advertising tracking on this site. If we add Google Analytics 4 (GA4) or a similar analytics tool in the future, non-essential analytics cookies will remain disabled until a cookie consent banner is added to the site and you provide explicit consent. This Privacy Policy will be updated to describe what is collected before any such tool goes live.
6. Data Retention
We keep contact form submissions for as long as reasonably needed to respond to your enquiry and maintain business records. You may ask us to delete your submission at any time using the contact details below.
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share data only with the service providers needed to operate this site — currently AWS SES for email delivery and, where enabled, Cloudflare Turnstile for spam protection — and only to the extent necessary to provide those services.
8. Your Rights
As a Canadian user, you may request access to the personal information we hold about you and ask that it be corrected, updated or deleted where appropriate. To exercise these rights, please contact us using the information below.
9. Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador and the federal laws of Canada.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
11. Contact Us
